Hot Chocolate

Hey Team Boogie. My line brother introduced me to music by this very special female singer named Michael Gadiva. Check out some of her work. Now I'll admit; it's quite the task not to be enveloped by her one of a kind beauty and her "boom boom pow" figure, but the girl has talent. I've said enough, though. As Chris Brown says, "I'm done." Click the link below, and check out her youtube page: www.youtube.com/michaelgadivatv. Peace!

Choose Your Artist- Ron Isley vs Charlie Wilson

As a youth my uncle, the late Marvin Hawkins, would foster my love of reading and basketball by giving me his collection of a little known magazine named Basketball Digest. The book contained great articles, stats, and previews of NBA teams and players. My favorite segment of the magazine however was titled "One on One". The segment compared NBA players past or present against each other. It took the talks from barbershops, cookouts, and old men playing chess and provided a grading system to validate naming one player over the other. Today, we take this great concept and transfer it to the world of music. In this new segment "Choose Your Artist", artists from various eras are pitted against their peers, their new age renditions, and even themselves to determine who music stars are the best of the best!  Throughout the 70s and 80s, The Isley Brothers and Gap Band lavished us with incredible music. Songs like "That Lady (Part 1)", "Summer Breeze...

Pick 6- Favorite TV Theme Songs

As a writer and filmmaker, I love watching television. For me, watching television (specifically sitcoms) serve as a study session of sorts, an opportunity to dissect some of the industry's techniques and see areas where my projects can be innovative in our own light. In addition, it is a chance to identify what are the elements of a great show. Arguably the most popular facet of a show is its theme song. The song kicks off everything, and helps create a brand. Take a look at my Pick 6 of intros, 6 of my favorite theme songs of all time! Each features a background on the show and song, with a brief insight from me. Be sure to comment and post your own! Night Court N ight Court is an American television situation comedy that aired on NBC from January 4, 1984 to May 31, 1992. The theme tune composed by Jack Elliott, featuring Ernie Watts on saxophone. "Night Court" is a cult classic, which carries ties to popular modern tv (Family Guy) to late 90s hip-...

Ooh Yeah! Channeling Your Inner R&B Singer

When I retire from the television and film industry, I've decided to record an album as an R&B artist. Initially my plan was to form a group with Devyn and Garvin. We would kill "em", but I've seen every episode of Unsung and I don't want us to go out like The Temptations or Five Heartbeats. My aspirations may seem outlandish, but those familiar with the powers of rizzle and bizzle (rhythm and blues) understand the benefit of exercising your musical talent. History shows that there is a long standing intimate connection between women and singers. From Ron Isley to R. Kelly, Otis Redding to Omarion ( "Touch" O, not Maybach O), Rhythm and Blues crooners leave a special effect on the ladies, one CGI can't replicate.  As a young buck, wet behind the ears and seeking...the ladies, this fact did not sneak past me.  Let's not forget that my moniker "Ceddy P" is derived from the original drawers dropper, Teddy Pendergrass . In my brie...
